Can woman take man to court for child support although DNA test never taken?

bebotbebotbebot asked:

If the man never put his name on the birth certificate and hasn't had a paternity test?

Or if she has. when would they test?

  1. dna paternity

You will not get child support without paternity being established.

Of course. What happens is that the woman files for child support and then the court has to determine paternity. The man is ordered to appear (with photo id) and he, the woman, and the child will all be tested to determine the parentage of the child. If the man refuses to appear, he could be deemed the daddy in his absence. And then he would have to pay child support.

As for when they will test…when they have a space available or whenever they get around to it.

    Good luck!

I think that his name needs to be on the birth certificate. Why would you want to bring a guy to court for child support when his name isn’t on the birth certificate and a paternity test wasn’t done?
